Sorry if this is the wrong place but I thought it fit in here best. O.O;;

I know most of you aren't avid collectors of the models but for those who are,

What are the differences, if any, between the Tomy and Tomy Academy zoids? I've heard that the Academy's may have some quality issues, like softer/ worse plastic and such.

For those who don't know, Academy zoids are the Korean release of the models. ;P

Looking to buy a Mugen or at least some type of Murasame Liger and it seems all you can get are Academy zoids these days! Don't want to spend a boat load of money on a zoid with crappy quality!

I don't know much about models in the first place. I just try to get what I can. I try not to be too picky when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm not too intense about my models but I want to make sure if I'm spending $60 on a Mugen coming straight from Korea it's going to be alright. Don't want a part snapping or something, no returns allowed! O.O

I haven't heard of any real differences that go beyond batch issues...and batch issues can plague Zoids from any country. They're often manufactured the same places anyway, though sucks when you get a bad batch >_<.

I know someone who got an Academy Schneider recently and it was okay, if that's any comfort?

Yea when ya buy from overseas you usually can't return things or have to pay return shipping which would be another 20-30 added onto the price. >.>

Much comfort, thanks Tilly. XD You do have a point, that those things can happen to any model manufactured anywhere. I'm still hoping something appears on vizeurope about the dubs, the 'merchandising' tab is still hopeful.
